Nattie's incorporates La Femme Africaine foundation, names Board of Directors…

At the Inaugural Atlanta NaijahFest in October 2005, Nattie's Event Coordinator, Aminat Gbaja pledged the company's dedication to launch a foundation in the Spring/Summer of 2006. The Non Profit foundation's goal is to raise awareness on socio economic plagues affecting African women, including but unlimited to Breast Cancer.

With the professional expertise of Mr. Ojong Odidi of America's Non Profit Academy Inc. www.nonprofitacademy.com that pledge has become a reality. As of June 26, 2006, La Femme Africaine, INC received its Certificate of Incorporation and official seal from the Secretary of State, Cathy Cox.

This accomplishment, made possible with overwhelming community support, is shared with all African women - in the Diaspora and at home. The foundation will only flourish with the continued support of everyone who is able to help - no help is too small or too big.

Thanks to the foundation's Board members, who are all committed to the success of the foundation, as unpaid and contributing members, in the following roles:

"Team La Femme Africaine" walks the Komen Atlanta Race for the Cure

We did it! Our team of five, was up bright and early on Saturday, May 13th to participate in the 16th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for The Cure - 5K Run/Walk... It was quite a rewarding experience for all to cross the finish line.

THANKS to everyone who visited the La Femme Africaine team page, joined our team, and/or made a donation. We pray your efforts are crowned with immense rewards and blessings.

Team La Femme Africaine set out to raise $5,000 to support the cause - we raised $1,855 and look to raise the bar in the future. From our humble beginnings, we aim to produce the first ever-indigenous African run/walk in the Atlanta area - with the La Femme Africaine PinkWalk in May 2007. Please plan to join us as we “walk our talk”!

We CAN NOT do much without you... Please visit our sponsor page and make a donation to augment our operational costs. You may also shop our portal sales - all proceeds benefit La Femme Africaine, a Nattie's Foundation.

We were honored to accept an invitation from the American Cancer Society (ACS) - Atlanta Satellite office as guests to its Inaugural "Mission Delivery Leadership Institute" (MDLI). At this innovative event, themed “Changing…Growing…Leading” ACS volunteers were recognized for their work and impact on the cancer burden in Georgia communities.

Participants received empowerment and training on the future of ACS and the South Atlantic Division. 2006 goals were reviewed in detail... All activities in 2006 and going forward will align with the strategy for 2015 goals, as follows.
